Paddle through the shallow waters of the marsh, skirting tree islands and enjoying vistas that stretch to the horizon. Then tour a cypress swamp by foot to hunt for animal tracks and view bromeliads and orchids.

Wet feet and a dip-net is the path to discovery. The marsh comes alive in the palm of your hands as you discover the amazing animals that call the wetlands home. Tadpoles, crayfish, and dragonflies are but a few of the critters you’ll encounter. Wear old lace-up shoes.

Experience the sunset over the freshwater marsh; watch wild birds fly home to roost, and then glide back in canoes under the moon’s glow. Brush up on your paddling skills try one of our mini-trips.
The new 2010 American Red Cross Wilderness and Remote First Aid course is intended to serve as an educational resource for those involved in activities that take them beyond the scope of traditional urban emergency medical services.
